Kepware Gives $10,000 Funding Sustaining Virtual Reality Program in Maine School, Funding encourages STEM knowledge and enlarges learning prospects for East Grand School



PORTLAND, Maine, June 22: Kepware®, a PTC trade evolving industrial connectivity software, has given East Grand School in Danforth, Maine, a funding of $10,000 pertaining to assimilating a virtual reality (VR) program into its syllabus. Currently in its fourth year, Kepware's yearly School Grant Program was expanded as component of the trade's pledge to the progress of Science, Technology, Engineering, as well as Mathematics (STEM) education and employees advancement throughout Maine.

The Kepware funding will allow East Grand educators to create and apply syllabus based on HTC VIVE VR programs. With comprehensive expert guidance on VR knowledge devices, East Grand educators will be capable to deliver pupils with immersive scholastic knowledges in history, biology, engineering, and more. The school proposes to deliver a devoted place to accommodate a VR system, 3D printing, and comparable practical expertise for pupils.

"Technology is key to enhancing student learning," revealed Tony Paine, CTO of Industrial Automation, PTC, adding, "Access to technology enables students to develop a strong foundation of technical skills and inspires them to explore their talents. The Kepware School Grant Program continues to supply students in our home state with tools to succeed in STEM disciplines and overcome the technology gap facing many Maine schools."

East Grand School has almost 150 pupils registered in their pre-kindergarten through 12th grade classes and is situated in a rural, geographically secluded town. Jennifer Gillman, a Mathematics teacher at East Grand School, requested for the funding with the objective of showing her students to more resourceful prospects and marketable expert abilities, which have conventionally been restricted because of the school's size and site.

"The Danforth community is devoted to our children, and at East Grand School we are always looking to provide important opportunities for our students," revealed Gillman, adding, "They have the ambition and the ability, but they don't always know what's out there in the world for them. This grant from Kepware will bring the world to our classrooms with invaluable hands-on learning for all students. The VR program will not only provide immersive and engaging educational experiences, but will teach students to be comfortable and confident when working with advanced technology."

Eighty-four schools, classrooms, school clubs, and additional scholastic programs in Maine requested for Kepware's 2017 School Grant Program. Claimants were assessed based on a one-page article describing how the $10,000 funding would enhance STEM learning prospects for learners.
