March 21 ,LOS ANGELES: The analytical news program “Vanity
Fair Confidential” on Investigation Discovery is the most current media setting
to disclose more of the facts concerning sexual assault demands made against well-known
“hot yoga” guru Bikram Choudhury. In an exclusive hour-long chapter encompassing
the cases, Carney Shegerian of Los Angeles-based Shegerian & Associates assisted
to explain how Choudhury supposedly dishonored numerous women who had relied on
him as their yoga expert and guide.
Six women (two of
whom were as well questioned by Vanity Fair Confidential) filed complaints asserting
that Choudhury sexually assaulted and/or raped them. The women are represented
by attorneys Mary Shea of Shea Law Offices in Oakland, California and
Shegerian.
In the discussions, Shegerian and the women clarified how tough
it has been to appear when the Bikram yoga group had been the sufferers’ beliefs
and living.
As egregious as Choudhury’s supposed conduct has been, nonetheless,
Shegerian stated that it is component of a social topic that spreads well outside
the yoga territory.
“These cases are actually representative of a problem that
has plagued society for too long,” revealed Shegerian, adding, “Men in
positions of power making unwanted and illegal sexual advances toward women who
are their employees or students is a problem of epidemic proportions that
simply must stop. These women, our clients, are taking a courageous step toward
shedding light on one such person of influence that has been sexually
harassing, abusing and assaulting women for a very long time. It’s our job to
help these women and put a stop to this.”
One of the women questioned for the program, Larissa
Anderson, is slated to commence her trial on May 1st.
