Ericsson along with Panasonic Collaborate to Distribute Smart, Sustainable Energy Solutions for Mobile Operators, Tower Companies as well as Others
NEWARK, N.J., February 24:- Ericsson and Panasonic
Corporation of North America are cooperating to create a novel
energy-as-a-service (EaaS) solution to market. This is the first time that the
two groups will function jointly on smart sustainable energy solutions. The contribution
will deliver an effective method to perceptively gauge, check and sustain
energy infrastructure for mobile operators and tower enterprises by utilizing large
data-based analytics, energy administration software, and lithium ion battery
energy storing.
The two enterprises' solution reduces the energy charges and
other assets needed to run sites. For mobile operators, businesses and
governments, this solution will provide a lessened overall price of possession
for energy tools by up to 20 percent, chiefly propelled by extended battery
life and less maintenance site visits creating the utmost stage of network obtainability.
With this as-a-service prototype up-front financing is not necessary
and this is an instance of how the circular financial system accelerates for lessened
ecological influence by means of extended product life, substitution of lead in
batteries and lessened requirement for transportation.
"Effective energy is a major focus area for all of our
customers and we are always looking for opportunities to reduce carbon
emissions. Energy-as-a-service is a new business model that is designed to make
energy operations more efficient, smarter and more sustainable. We believe our
strategic relationship with Panasonic will deliver significant benefits to our
customers in terms of OPEX savings and contribute to an overall improved
experience for their customers, resulting from a higher level of network
reliability," revealed Bradley Mead, Head of Managed Services and Network
Design Optimization at Ericsson.
With its great know-how in network administration as well as
connectivity, Ericsson will be responsible for products and facilities propelled
through its Integrated Operations Center, concentrating primarily on its administered
services clients. Panasonic with its great know-how in energy resources and administration
will be responsible for the energy architecture and solution orchestration supporting
the facility.
"We are excited to closely collaborate with Ericsson on
smart, sustainable energy-as-a-service solutions, leveraging the companies'
respective strengths in telecommunications and energy solutions," commented
Jim Doyle, president of Panasonic Enterprise Solutions Company, a division of
Panasonic Corporation of North America, adding, "This solution reduces
total cost of ownership and energy consumption while improving system
resilience and connectivity uptime, benefitting mobile operators and tower
companies as well as their customers. In addition, telecommunications forms the
backbone that supports not just IoT generally but also responsive
infrastructure for smart cities specifically, including the smart city
solutions being deployed by Panasonic CityNOW."
The companies will cooperate to further modify and advance
the solution so it can efficiently cope up with the requirements of clients in
the functionality, transportation as well as public security areas, and sustain
the relocation toward smarter and more supportable cities.
