PTC to Enlarge Vuforia Platform with Distant Presence Competence
SANTA CLARA, Calif, May 31: -PTC has revealed from Augmented
World Expo that the Vuforia® platform, the most extensively utilized software
platform for augmented reality (AR) usage expansion, will develop to comprise a
novel distant presence competence for creators, customers, and trades.
Vuforia Project Chalk will transport a novel element of
interactivity to a video call, in which one person can digitally explain
another’s physical setting. The consequence is one person can deliver leadership
to another from a distant place with comparable efficiency as being in the similar
physical area.
Project Chalk will allow people of all ages to conclude unaccustomed
or difficult responsibilities with leadership from associates, family, contemporaries,
and specialists. For instance, diligent parents can help children with homework
or projects at home, do-it-your-selfers can obtain help from each other or an indigenous
handyman, and families with aged members can deliver leadership to conquer routine
difficult responsibilities.
Furthermore, Project Chalk will allow a wide range of mobile
workers – from facility experts to sales personnel – to troubleshoot and solve difficulties
with augmented effortlessness, swiftness, and accurateness.
“We see Project Chalk as a fundamentally disruptive form of
remote communication that will be well received across multiple sectors and for
multiple use cases,” revealed Eric Abbruzzese, principal analyst, ABI Research,
adding, “We envision this capability being used beyond the enterprise on
everyday devices across platforms.”
Project Chalk utilizes established computer vision expertise
in the Vuforia platform to distribute an innovation knowledge across an extensive
variety of phones, tablets, and digital eyewear. Creators will be competent to integrate
Project Chalk competences in prevailing Vuforia-powered uses for iOS, Android,
and Windows using Vuforia SDKs. Furthermore, Project Chalk will be made accessible
as a standalone use through app stores. The application will sustain a freemium
model with proposals for both private and commercial usage.
“Vuforia Project Chalk will deliver a new mode of communication
with the potential to improve our personal and professional lives,” stated Jay
Wright, president, Vuforia, adding, “While we understand its use for helping
others, Project Chalk will also enable a new generation of AR applications for
people to create digital content to be shared on the physical world.”
Vuforia Project Chalk is estimated to be obtainable for creators
in Vuforia SDKs, and for customers and enterprises via app stores in Fall 2017.
