 Mumbai, Maharashtra,

IndiaWPP Foundation, the CSR unit of WPP in India, has been acknowledged at the International CSR Excellence Awards, UK as the CSR World Leader 2020. This international praise acnowledges WPP Foundation’s brilliant contribution to the Indian society in the sphere of education and talent development through its key program- Education to Livelihood (E2L) and WPP Foundation’s function with the under-served communities.

The International CSR Excellence Awards was founded 8 years ago to acknowledge global  organisations that back their workforce and the communities they work in. They acknowledge that it is presently more vital than ever to develop the globe for future generations by building a superior and cohesive society. The illustrious programme was organized at the House of Commons in London and saw an overwhelming reaction from corporates from diverse segments across the world.

Commenting on the achievement, Rama Iyer, Director General, WPP Foundation, observed, This is a defining moment for us, as we are a young organization aiming to create a model for large scale impact.

We measure our success by the number of doors we open for the children we support and smiles that we put onto their faces.

We are humbled by this global win – but like we’ve always said, the real winners here are our children.”

WPP Foundation has functioned towards nurturing the children they work with by upskilling them and their communities via its key programme, Education to Livelihood (E2L). Over the previous three years, the Foundation has concentrated on bringing about behavioural change, enhancing learning results and fortifying the employability of children, hence propelling positive influence in society. Functioning with 10 schools across diverse communities of urban, peri-urban and rural India, WPP Foundation has served almost 20,000 children over a span of 7 years.
About the WPP India CSR Foundation

WPP is a creative transformation organisation that creates superior futures for its customers via the combined services of communications, experience, commerce and expertise. WPP in India commenced WPP India CSR Foundation in 2015. The objective is to assist 20,000 underprivileged children and youth in obtaining their true potential in their education and careers. WPP Foundation is dedicated to a general CSR goal of opening doors for every child and youth from susceptible and marginalised communities through its comprehensive child development programmes that concentrate on education, life skills, and job-readiness training.

Journey of the WPP India CSR Foundation

WPP India CSR Foundation attempts to bring about a social transformation via its key Education to Livelihood programme (E2L). Addressing vital concentration zones —retention in school, poor learning results, work skilling and deep-rooted social rules, the E2L programme has been furnishing interventions and resources to approx. 20,000 first-generation learners from 11- 18 years. Presently, the programme is functioning in 10 underprivileged schools across the Mumbai and Delhi-NCR region. Through tactical collaborations with best-of-breed social organizations, the E2L programme takes an evidence-based approach in developing frameworks to expedite successful execution.

The Foundation’s chief endeavor consists of enhancing educational results in literacy and numeracy, with a concentration on opening young minds to the sphere of digital innovation. The Foundation also imbibes in youth a sense of confidence and gender equality as well as train their temperament and conducts for future livelihoods, via counselling, sport, dance and music.

To guarantee retention among the youth they back, they furnish access to health education and health services.

In a considerably brief period, the E2L program has been able to:
  • Help over 70% of children secure their future through employment or higher education
  • Reduce dropout rates to less than 3%
  • Initiate better health standards
  • Double the ability of coding
  • Reduce gender discrimination
  • Increase literacy & numeracy
  • Increase confidence levels
As evidence to its sustained endeavour to propel positive social influence, WPP Foundation has been acknowledged with 23 Global, APAC and India awards including the International CSR Excellence Awards, London, 2019 for its CSR Initiatives and Socio-Economic Activities, The Best CSR practice, Innovative CSR practice and the CSR Leadership award at Asia’s Excellence Award, Singapore and Golden Globe Tigers Awards, Malaysia, 2019. The WPP Foundation has also secured
