HPE eHealth Centers Assists in Facilitating Over One Million Patient Visits in India

 Bengaluru, Karnataka, India

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) revealed that its eHealth Centers (eHCs) have jointly facilitated in excess of 1 million patient visits across India. Providing a digital healthcare solution, the extensive eHC network offers remote diagnosis free of cost to underprivileged communities, strengthening HPE’s long-term dedication to the nation and its objective to enhance the way people live and work.

Numerous citizens do not have access to basic healthcare facilities, which are vital to diminishing mortality rates from chronic conditions such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes. Acknowledging the crucial function of expertise in enhancing access and efficiency of basic healthcare in underserved areas, HPE commenced its eHC endeavour in 2012. The eHCs, targeted to fit and utilize within a standard shipping container, link patients to highly expert medics. These centers also merge online training materials for remote healthcare workers with diagnostic equipments that gather the patients’ vital statistics on a cloud-based application. Apart from this, by leveraging data analytics, the eHCs facilitate health monitoring and management by recognizing ailment patterns in local communities.

“At HPE, we believe technology can play a significant role in addressing rapidly-evolving healthcare needs. Being a purpose-driven organization, we strive to develop innovative models such as eHCs to make our world better,” observed Som Satsangi, MD – India, HPE, adding “The one million eHC patient visits is a significant milestone in reaffirming our commitment to build a culture of innovation that positively impacts local communities across the country.”

Working for a TB-free India

Backing the government’s government's objective of making India TB-free by 2025, HPE signed the USAID TB pledge. Under this vow, the eHCs will screen symptomatic patients and target the “Missing TB” cases who carry the ailment and go undetected. The diagnosed patients will be referred to the closest government acknowledged TB treatment center. The eHCs target to give free diagnostic services to over 50,000 TB patients by July 2020.

Widening the eHC network

Presently, there are in excess 130 eHCs deployed across 18 states in the nation. To further expand the reach of inexpensive and personalized healthcare services, HPE will establish additional eHCs across the nation. The success of eHCs in India has resulted in HPE unveiling such facilities in Bhutan and the Philippines.

HPE’s dedication to further enhancing worldwide access to healthcare assisted in encouraging the unveiling of Tech Impact 2030 in 2018. Along with the World Economic Forum, HPE revealed the endeavor concentrated on bringing together expertise, industry and government to propel considerable change by the year 2030. Under this effort, HPE introduced a challenge to permit real-time, personalized medical care for patients by 2030. Looking forward, HPE foresees developing technology to comprehensively enhance the expense, speed and perfection of medical research and patient care.
