Chris Krug to guide Franklin Center as well as Watchdog.org



CHICAGO, April 17: Expert newsroom spearhead Chris Krug has been named President of the Franklin Center for Government & Public Integrity and its journalism venture Watchdog.org.

"The journalistic mission and value of the Franklin Center and Watchdog.org are more important now than ever in today's changing media landscape," Krug revealed, adding, "This is an exciting time to grow the Watchdog.org brand and expand its critical role in keeping government accountable and citizens informed."

Krug provides the Franklin Center with over 25 years’ understanding in the media industry. He presently steers the Illinois News Network as Publisher and General Manager, a responsibility which he will persist as he takes the key position at the Franklin Center.

Krug is previous publisher of the suburban Chicago Pioneer Press newspaper sequence. Before his term as a vice president at Sun-Times Media Network and oversight of Pioneer, he was in control ofr all news actions and controlled assets in the suburbs as a vice president for Shaw Suburban Media in the greater Chicago expanse. In 2008, the Local Media Association venerated Krug as countrywide editor of the year, and his newsrooms have obtained hundreds of regional, state and nationwide accolades for work in print, video and on digital pure-plays. Krug as well is the previous president of the Illinois Associated Press Editors Association.
