The Father of the Nation

In an alarming revelation exposing the poor knowledge about the history of Indian independence struggle among the present generation,  a number of youngsters were at their wits end when asked by an interviewer to name who  father of the nation was. Surprisingly none of  those who faced the question could come up with the appropriate reply. The interviewer Ashoke Pandey who questioned the people  he came across at random got ludicrous answers that raised several questions about the quality of education imparted to them by the institutions they studied. The entire question answer session was posted by Ashok Pandey on X which unveiled the gross ignorance of the so called literate section of the society and has raised serious questions about the standard of academic environment where they were taught and nurtured. Those who were questioned regarding the response about the father of the nation came up with weird and ridiculous answers. While a young woman said with a great deal of confidence  that it was Sardar Vallavbhai Patel, another woman revealed that it was Narendra Modi who was referred to as the father of the nation.A young man then joined the party and gave a prompt response saying that it was Ambedkar who was known as the father of the nation. Another person in his own unique style retorted that he could picturize the person in question but could not recollect his name.Worst still a woman smartly replied Gujarat, Dilli, ( Delhi). The inability to name the father of the nation by the young people of the present era is a sad  reflection of their knowledge and their apathy to know about the country's past and the facts connected with the Indian freedom struggle. Such a scenario is totally unthinkable.
