The catch that won the match

There is a saying in cricketing jargon that catches win matches and in the T20 international World Cup Finals at Barbados, Surya Kumar Yadav literally snatched the game away from South Africa by taking a spectacular catch of David Miller in the final over. Miller whose presence on the crease posed a great threat to the Indian bowlers had the ability to take South Africa through but for the stupendous effort of Surya Kumar Yadav the Proteas could not fulfill their objective. The match was evenly poised with South Africa needing 16 runs in the final over of the run chase. In the first ball of the final over David Miller smashed the ball with all his might desperate to bring down the run rate in the remaining five balls of the over. It almost looked like a certain six with the ball travelling at a great velocity and was making its way out of the ground. But Surya Kumar Yadav who was positioned near the boundary rope caught the ball, kept it airborne and while crossing the rope threw the ball back to the field to complete an outstanding catch. A number of cricketing experts thought that it was the most crucial moment of the match that enabled India to snatch victory in the match from the brink of defeat. While the bowlers and batsmen deserve the obvious credit for their performance in outwitting the opposition, it was Surya Kumar Yadav's stupendous effort that ensured a breathtaking victory for team India. Surya Kumar Yadav needs to be congratulated for his tremendous cricketing skill and catching ability apart from his batting capability which has made him one of the best T20 international batsmen of all times.
