BJP's pathetic bypoll display

 BJP'S debacle in the recently concluded by poll elections that were held across seven states the results of which were declared today clearly shows the dominance of the INDIA block with the alliance bagging ten out the thirteen seats while the BJP and its allies the NDA, the ruling dispensation at the centre could win in only two seats. An independent candidate won the other seat that was up for grabs. The by poll results which come in the wake of the NDA forming the government at the centre for the third time in succession though with a not so resounding a mandate in its favour does not augur well for the saffron brigade and its alliance partners. INDIA blocks ability to consolidate it's position among the electorate in the current political scenario is a clear signal that the Modi-Shah combine has not succeeded in wooing the voters with their poll of strategy. The results are indicative of the growing disillusionment of the voters with the Government's unsatisfactory performance on a number of fronts including its incompetence to address the burgeoning problem of unemployment and its ineffective approach to control inflation. Though the NDA led government at the centre has several achievements to boast of that consists of dramatic progress in boosting India's image in the international arena and making India a force to reckon with in the global context. The social schemes initiated by the NDA led government over the years of its occupation in office have benefitted numerous people badly in need of government support. The scientific accomplishment of the NDA government cannot also be overlooked.The recent drubbing the BJP received in the bypolls is a clear reflection that the control of the saffron brigade over its followers is gradually waning. Unless and until the BJP and its allies are able to judge the mood and the demands of the voters the opposition will continue to gain ground exploiting the NDA's strategic weakness. It is time that the BJP gets up from its slumber and take corrective measures to redress the grievances of the people that once formed a sizeable chunk of its vote bank.

APWG REPORT: Phishing Assaults Double in 2020 and October Breakd All-Time Monthly Records

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Feb. 9: The APWG's new Phishing Activity Trends Report shows that the number of phishing assaults witnessed by APWG members increased during 2020, wholly doubling over the course of the year. Attacks topped in October 2020, with a high of 225,304 new phishing sites appearing in that month alone, breaking all earlier monthly records. In Brazil, security firm Axur saw a slower growth in the number of phishing attacks that targeted Brazilian companies and consumers in Brazil. But overall, Axur observed almost twice as many such phishing sites in 2020 as it did in 2019, a concerning year-over-year growth. APWG contributor OpSec Security found that phishing that targeted financial institutions was the largest category of phishing in the fourth quarter, at 22.5 percent of all attacks.
