Rotary Club of Calcutta Royals conducts third installation ceremony with great zeal and enthusiasm

Kolkata, August 5: In an event of crucial significance, the third installation ceremony of the Rotary Club of Calcutta Royals was held at the Conclave in Kolkata with a great deal of fervor and enthusiasm. Eminent personalities from different walks of life who have contributed notably as Rotarians for the well being of the society at large graced the occasion. The proceedings commenced with the customary lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the District Governor honourable Hiralal Yadav. The outgoing President of Rotary Club Royals Shelley Mehta who worked tirelessly during her tenure as President officially handed over the mantle to the incumbent President Malini Soans. In her speech the former President spoke about the challenges faced by the Rotary Club of Calcutta Royals and how the members with their united endeavour overcame the difficulties with grit and determination. She also stressed on the need for greater effort among the Rotarians to work constructively for the betterment of society. Malini Soans the incumbent president spoke about the feats accomplished by the club after she took over the responsibilities earlier as the President from Shelly Mehta, with Indrani Ganguly also dwelling on some of the projects undertaken by her under the aegis of the Club. District Governor Hiralal Yadav a man of great distinction and a stalwart in pioneering social welfare schemes urged fellow Rotarians belonging to the Rotary Club of Calcutta Royals and those from other clubs owing allegiance to the Rotary Club to be sincere in their approach in undertaking and completing projects that benefit the society at large. Hiralal Yadav has been serving the Rotary Club with great dedication and sincerity for a considerable period of time. Guest-in-chief Dr Krishnendu Gupta a member of Rotary Club Victoria and a medical professional of immense repute extended his greetings to the members of the Rotary Club of Calcutta Royals and urged the members to continue the benevolent work undertaken by them. He thanked Calcutta Royals for inviting him on an occasion of great importance. Dr Nabarun Bhowmik a doctor by profession and member of the Rotary Club Calcutta Royals conducted the proceedings in an excellent manner by virtue of his oratorial skill. President elect Saudull Abedin delivered the vote of thanks by appreciating the presence of the Rotarian luminaries and being a vital part of the installation ceremony. Rakesh Bhatia a veteran Rotarian and a member of Rotary Club Belur who has been acting as the advisor to the Rotary Club of Calcutta Royals also made a few important observations during the course of the proceedings. Chitra Abedin,Sunil Chowdhury, Santosh Chowdhury, Geeta Bhatia and Anjishnu Biswas were formally inducted into the Rotary Club of Calcutta Royals team by District Governor Hiralal Yadav who encouraged the members to try to live up to the expectation of a Rotarian in the true sense of the term. Others members who were present on the occasion included Sanjay Dutta, former treasurer of Rotary Club of Calcutta Royals,Abishek Das Sergeant at Arms of Rotary Club of Calcutta Royals apart from several renowned Rotarians from other clubs affiliated to Rotary Club of Calcutta.
